extra thoughts

in the past i’ve been worried about using aboriginal symbolism on the flag. not because i’m against it, but because i was worried i’d do it wrong since i’m not aboriginal myself. however, i’ve seen many australian flag redesigns with boomerangs and i haven’t seen anyone have any issues with using a boomerang in a design, so until anyone says otherwise, i’ll assume there’s nothing wrong with it.

after making the flag, i noticed it looks like a recoloured upside-down red peak flag. that flag was proposed for aotearoa and made by aaron dustin. i welcome this, because i think it’d be cool if the australian and aotearoan flags look similar but in a newer, cooler, and less british colonial way. i also used a 1:2 ratio this time because i didn’t like how the design looked in 2:3.
